The Broyhill Brasilia "slim hutch" (often a china cabinet or room divider) is a monumental piece of mid-century design. Introduced at the 1962 Seattle World’s Fair, its swooping walnut arches and sculptural forms directly emulate the famous architecture of Oscar Niemeyer's Brasília.

  • The Inspiration: When Brazil built its utopian capital of Brasília, architect Oscar Niemeyer used sweeping parabolic arches and striking geometric shapes.

  • The Makers: Executive visionaries at Broyhill Furniture—spearheaded by Paul Broyhill and head designer Melbourne F. Smith—translated this sweeping architecture into functional art.

  • This is truly a rarity, with the slim hutch being one of the most difficult to obtain.

Roma B.

"Larry is incredibly talented! My partner and I recently had him do a full restoration on our Lane First Edition Credenza and we couldn’t be happier with the results!"

Amanda O.

"Can't recommend Larry and his work more. We had a dresser refinished for our nursery and Larry walked us through the pros and cons while selecting a piece from his warehouse, what to expect during the process, a realistic timeline and made sure we were on the same page about final look. He was transparent and communicative throughout the entire process and the final product is stunning. Our child will truly have an heirloom piece for years and years to come. We will be using Larry in the future and will make sure to spread the word about his great work."

Ismar C.

Very fast turn around with the piece I sent to get restored!"
